Team Based Learning and Practice; Adopting an Interprofessional Lens

Interprofessional Learning

10:45 - 12:15

Most if not all professional roles involve interprofessional team work. For students and practitioners in healthcare, exposure to interprofessional education (IPE) is critical to enable effective collaboration in practice to improve patient outcomes. IPE occurs when two or more students from different health professions learn with, from and about each other. This workshop will highlight; how we stereotype our own and other professions, the different perspectives team members bring so that the whole picture is articulated and understood and, conflict resolution styles.

The workshop will also provide opportunity for participants to experience some simple yet authentic activities that map to interprofessional competencies and have educational value in undergraduate and practice settings.
